ABOUT ME
 Hello everyone! I am John Phillips Bengero, my friends from Saint Claire call me Phillips while my family and college friends call me Jepoy. My relatives from my mother side call me Jaypee, which I really don't like :~)
I was born in Fabella Hospital in Manila, Philippines. You know, the hospital in Tondo where lots of babies are born everyday. I studied at Saint Claire School from pre-school to high school and attended 1 year of college at the University of Santo Tomas as an Electrical Engineering student. My grandfather wanted me to become an Electrical Engineer so I granted his request.
I'm really into computers and programming so I transfered to AMA Computer University after 1 year. I was supposed to enroll BS Computer Science but when I learned that my drawing/drafting subject would be credited if I enroll as BS Computer Engineering. I really had a hard time on that subject so I choose Computer Engineering as my course.
During my stay at AMACU, I became the president of AMA microsystems, the #1 and most admired student organization in the campus. I majored in computer security and CISCO Networking.
I am currently the President and CEO of BengerOrozco Enterprises Inc. that operates myPapaNi Online Store in Quezon City, Philippines. I also acquired several high-ranking niche blogs recently that I prefer not to reveal right now. :)
I love Star Trek. Just look at how I made this blogspot blog look like an LCARS terminal. I also love watching WWE. Some of the things I like include: video games especially Nintendo games and consoles, mobile phones, My Sassy Girl (watched it for more than 20x already even before it was shown in theaters), and Vic Sotto's movies.
ABOUT CAPTAIN'S LOG
My very first website was hosted at my dial-up ISPs webspace in 1996. It basically contain's links to my favorite websites and a basic weekly updates of my life. Sort of like an early version of a blog. I tried to look for it on archive.org but it seems they don't archive websites that has a ~ in its URL. I know I had a CD backups of this but I haven't found them yet.
I already had a blog when I registered this Blogger account. I wanted to have a GMAIL invite so I tried everything that was available, and blogging at Blogger is one of them. My personal "blog" was hosted on mydestiny.net's free webspace. It's an LCARS inspired and HTML based website. All of the updates (or blog updates) on that website were done manually using notepad or Dreamweaver.
After some tinkering with my Blogger account, I created an LCARS inspired theme/layout. I then decided to transfer my personal blog from mydestiny.net to Blogger. For some time, this has been my personal blog until Sir J. Angelo Racoma suggested that I started monetizing my blog using Google Adsense.
I started to write things other than my personal experiences and thus the new Captain's Log was born. I also started writing in English instead of Tagalog for wider audience and a much better conversion of ads from Adsense.
Since I started blogging about technology and the internet, I was quoted by big websites like Engadget, Inquirer, and a few other bigwigs of the internet.
