I've finally finished designing my ITlog on i.ph and it's now time to post something. The feature I liked most here on Blogger is the ability to post an entry via email. This feature is very useful especially to bloggers on the road. You can post entries on the fly by just sending an email using your laptop or cellphone.
I've posted a sample entry using the email address I've specified on the control panel. You must send your entries to [name of blog category]@[blogname].[subdomain].i.ph. You can also attach images to your email and the image will be posted on your entry.
You will recieve an email confirmation once you have sent your email to i.ph and you must reply to this email with the SUBJECT intact... this is where a problem arise for bloggers using MMS. What if I saw my crush on the way and luckily, I have my handy cam-phone with me. I wanted to have a picture with her and would like to immediately post it on my blog. Normally, I would just send the MMS to my i.ph email... but i.ph requires a confirmation by replying to their email address.
I am using Globe to send MMS to emails and a recipient of an MMS email cannot reply directly to the sender. The email will simply bounce back with the following error:
Technical details of permanent failure: PERM_FAILURE: DNS Error: DNS server returned answer with no data
With this problem, you CANNOT post entries via MMS ala TextAmerica style. I hope i.ph implements improvements by eliminating the email confirmation so that anyone can start posting MMS on their blogs. Blogger uses the format [username].[unique password]@blogger.com to accept posts via email. i.ph could use the same feature.
Overall, posting via email is a breeze with i.ph. I'll give a 4.5 out of 5 score for i.ph's EMAIL POSTING.
Including tags to end an entry would also be a nice addition for this feature. No one likes to see these on your last paragraph right?
