My grandmother's cellphone recieved a (possible) text scam this morning:

Congratulations! The last 4digits of ur celfone# had won a prize in our PCCNS electronic draw last Sept. 10, 2005. Call me now 2 claim ur prize, I'm Mark Santos

I asked for his email address since "my load was about to expire" so we could constantly be in touched. Still waiting for his reponse...

A very powerful tool ---FRIENDSTER. Kung tatanga tanga yung hinuhunting mo... He would normally use a single email for all his transactions, Friendster included. Shucks, I just told you my secret. Your PC will now self destruct in 1 nano second... *poof*

Anyway, here's a reminder from Globe about these scams:

Fake Promos via Text

WARNING! Don't be a victim of fake promos via text. Here are 3 easy ways to spot a false promo:

1. Beware of text messages informing you that you've won a special prize, specially if you don't remember joining that particular promo.

2. Our winners are never asked to pay cash or send prepaid load as a condition to claiming the prize.

3. Winners are advised via appropriate means such as letters, phone calls from company representatives, and advertisements.

If you have questions about a promo or wish to report any suspicious text message, dial 211 for Globe or 808 for Touch Mobile toll-free using your cellphone.
