Advertise On Sacha's Laptop

Captain's Log Stardate -317648.71

Tech blogger Sacha Chua is modifying one of the most successful money-making ideas (million dollar homepage) and adapting it to her laptop... lid.

Want to reach the hippest geeks at BarCampEarthToronto? Advertise on the back of my laptop!

I'm Sacha Chua, and I'm a tech evangelist. Give me something cool to talk about. =) Looking for people to hire? Want to get your product or service in front of geeks? Just want to do something cool? Buy an ad on my laptop!

The back of an 8.9" laptop screen *really* doesn't seem like much space to advertise on, but *everyone* looks, believe me. It's the irresistible combination of cute geek girl _and_ insanely tiny laptop. (Gotta love that Sony Vaio PCG-U1!)

And it happens *every* *single* *time.* It helps that I have small hands. Most people just can't deal with gadgets that small. Sure, black Macbooks are trendy, but they're not as rare as a *teensy* little laptop that a geek girl is happily typing away on. (In Emacs, no less.)

I can't help it. I get attention. I might as well make use of it.

More to the point: _you_ might as well make use of it.

More info at Sacha's Blog.

BTW, by looking at Sacha's friendster account, I was able to find my classmate back in elementary. Hahaha! Stalking does pay-off :P

Dry Dock

Blogger Beta has been available for several weeks now and I have yet to decide whether to upgrade my account to beta or not. Anyway, since I'm busy for the past few days, I'll be "docking" my blog on dry dock and file for a shore leave. I'll be doing some blog template optimization and prepare my template for Blogger Beta. I'll still post updates but not as frequent as before.

If you want to be notified by updates, please enter your email below :)

Enter your email address:

Broken links and images would be seen here as I do some "upgrades" :~)

FREE TV Streams on Your GPRS/3G Phone via Globe
Sunday, August 20, 2006

Captain's Log Stardate -317634.09

Did you know that you could watch TV streams on your GPRS / 3G Enabled mobile phones while you're on Globe Telecom for FREE??

Just set your Real Player's connection to myGlobe Stream's access point and view the following TV streams for free:

GMA 7 - rtsp://203.177.154.141/encoder/gma7.rm
ABS-CBN - rtsp://203.177.154.141/encoder/ABS-CBN.rm
ABS-CBN News Channel - rtsp://203.177.154.141/encoder/ANC.rm
CNN - rtsp://203.177.154.141/encoder/gmacnn.rm

If you don't have the myGlobe Stream Settings, follow the manual configuration settings below and create a myGlobe Stream access point. Go to TOOLS -> SETTINGS -> CONNECTION -> ACCESS POINTS -> OPTIONS -> NEW ACCESS POINT -> USE DEFAULT SETTINGS

Manual myGlobe Stream settings:

Connection name = myGlobe Stream
Data bearer = packet data
Access point name = real.globe.com.ph
Authentication = normal
Homepage = http://www.globe.com.ph/globe.asp

After setting up the manual settings of your access point, Go to your Real One Player and open Options -> settings -> connection -> network. Follow the settings below.

Manual Real Player Connection Settings:
Default access point = myGlobe Stream
Online time = unlimited
Lowest upd port = 6970
Highest udp port = 32000

Tested and working on my nokia 6600 (CNN excluded. I'm recieving a "not enough bandwidth" error. Maybe because I'm using a jurassic 6600 model?).

Now how about lowering your GPRS/3G rates and opening your myGlobe INET access points to prepaid subscribers? Globe... hear us :~)

OH MY! AN IGNORANT, ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER JERK!
Friday, August 04, 2006

Captain's Log Stardate -317589.15

When Lalaine started blogging, I warned her of imbeciles roaming the internet, or what Ade has been referring to as Clueless Wonders. She's been blogging continuously just a few weeks ago and we all know how excited new bloggers are in terms of link exchanges. Clicking and clicking network of blogs and tagging each and every tagboard. Admit it. Most of us have been there before.

One day, Lalaine found a girl blogging about her "best friend". Lalaine asked this girl a question:

Lalaine said...
hello again. ask ko lang po kung yung best friend mo eh nag aral sa Holy Child nung elementary sya. he looks familiar kc eh. baka kase school mate kami. un lang po. tnx

Actual site. (Warning: this site loads lots of blinkies, autoplays galore, and a lot of eyesore. Proceed with caution.)

Then a few days later, this girls supposedly "best friend" posted this on Lalaine's tagboard:
syke: sino ka at bakit mo ako kilala.. pati si fam kilala mo at pano mo nagawang mag email kay gie na liligawan kita? inde kaya kapal muks ka lang?

OLRAYT. Since I'm in a bad mood today, after all of those "clueless" emails and SMS I've received, FEEL MY WRATH DUMBASS. First of all, THAT WAS A COMMENT AND NOT AN EMAIL YOU CLUELESS TWAT. READ IT. READ. SECOND, LALAINE SIMPLY ASKED IF YOU STUDIED AT HOLY CHILD YOU M%ith$@r!#$! 3RD, THIS IS THE INTERNET DUMB SMUCK. LALAINE KNEW FAM BECAUSE OF LINK EXCHANGE. THEY ALSO CALL IT LINKBACKS. FAGGOT.

And OH MY! YOUR SITE SUCKS. MAN! YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO YOUR M.A.P.E. CLASS! YOU SUCK AT COLORS. YOU SUCK AT SITE LAYOUTS. YOUR AUTOPLAY IS ANNOYING AND, mind you, AUTOPLAY SUCKS. YOUR BRAIN SUCKS. EVERYTHING IN YOU SUCKS. YOU SUCK.

TWO WORDS.

SUCK IT!

ARRRR!! Aryty Maytee! Gimme Load!
Thursday, August 03, 2006

Captain's Log Stardate -317586.35

I received a mobile "spam" this morning informing me that I could now ask for load or prepaid credits from my relatives in the United States.

Globe Advisory: Ask-A-Load sa taga-USA & get FREE P150 load! Txt ASK 1 to 2201.P2.50/txt. Visit www.aryty.com.ph. No Free Advsry? Rply STOP

From the Aryty (twang of All Righty) website:

Tell us who you want to Ask 4 Load (Tito, Ate, Kuya, Lolo, Nanay, Syota, Dati mong maid, kahit sino!). Request with either a text message or on our website.
Ask from family and friends kahit saan sila sa States!

We process your request quickly and securely. Mabilis at simple! We'll let you know as soon as your request is accepted.
You get a quick response and nearly instant results.

If your request is accepted, your phone is sent load in just a few moments. Ganun lang. You can immediately use your load to talk, text or anything else you can think of.
Your friends and family save time and money. You get you cell phone ready to go.

Nice concept. But their A-List caught my attention. You can advertise on Friendster, MySpace or even your blog that you needed load. Online begging to the max! Hahahaha!
Make a banner to advertise yourself. You need load; tell people about it.

Choose your look and enter your details in just three easy steps. We'll give you instructions on how to add your A-List to your social networking homepage or blog. Now get load from friends and family overseas 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

I'll try to register later so I could beg prepaid credits online. Ye!

Or as an alternative, you may try out PaySetterXpress. I've been using them to topup my Globe prepaid account using PayPal. (ok paypal's not available... IBALIK ANG PAYPAL SA PINAS!)

Back to online load begging! Aryty?

Ade's "Clueless Wonders" Invade Friendster!
Tuesday, August 01, 2006

Captain's Log Stardate -317585.69

Clueless Dumbass

Ade has created lists of clueless bloggers and individuals swarming the blogosphere. You can read more about some of them here and here. But if those bozos aren't enough for you, GO TO FRIENDSTER.

A month ago, I recieved a free e-PIN to try out Friendster Ads (FADS). During that time, I was also selling 5 of my mobile phones. So with nothing to lose, I posted my ad on Friendster. Since my ad will be exposed to the "masa" populace dominating Friendster, I created a "masa-appealing" ad. Here's the exact ad I posted:

Murang-murang Nokia 6600 + 6310 + 5210 + SE t68i + MCA-25 Cam!

===

Package 2

P6,300 - sa Nokia 6310, Nokia 5210 at Sony Ericsson t68i. May kasamang camera ito ng t68i na nagkakahalaga ng P2,000. Murang mura na yan!

===

Magtext lang sa myPapaNi Online Store Text Hotline 0917-2436788 !!

Pwede din magemail sa sales@mypapani.com

RUSH SALE!!!

So ok, FADS didn't work for me, until yesterday. My ad was miraculously reincarnated by the guys at Friendster Ads --30 days after it was originally posted. In a matter of 24 hours, myPapaNi's email and mobile number were flooded with clueless emails and SMS.

Clueless Emails

I restrained myself from informing the guys at FADS that my phones are no longer for sale. I am amused with all of the emails and SMS I've recieved today. FADS DO WORK! It attracted dozens of ignorant clueless twats. I have a low tolerance in dealing with dumb n00bs, but since I'm at the helm of an online business, it's better to let them pass. They're still customers right? *evil grin*

Here's some of the email I've recieved:

MY AD STATES THAT THE PHONE WAS BOUGHT LAST FEB 2005... P*(SD%(^D(NG IN@. Go figure.

---

This dumbass must be using a mobile phone to type his email... TXTSPK SUX!

---

BRAIN FREEZE. What was that again? I first thought she was a Nigerian eBay scammer.

---

This guy is an indication that our education is declining fast. TXTSPK SUX!

---

Hey, my phones are all second hand... dumbass.

---

walang sira yan haaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 Better watch "epol-apple" fool.

---

Huh?!

---

P2000 for a Nokia 3230? WTF?! A brand new one costs P12,000 faggot.

---

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Semicon... P@ta. Baka Recon -_-

---

PANALO! This dumbass even used their corporate email. c00lness.

---

Funny as they look, but there's a deeper issue here. Our next-generation's IQ are all declining. Is this because of text? Taglish on media? Telenovelas everywhere? Maybe today is really the right time to bring Batibot back on TV and force every kid to swallow 1000 tablespoons of iodized salt everyday.

BTW, my phones are no longer for sale.
