The League of Imp eXterminators eXtraordinaire Captain's Log Stardate -317708.86 IMP or imp may mean: - An imp, a fantasy creature; An imp is a fictional lower level devil in the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. - Wikipedia Newb vs. noob: - Newb and noob may have somewhat different connotations. Newbs are simply newcomers—noob and n00b, on the other hand, generally mean someone who is obnoxious, annoying, or breaks the rules; whether they are actual newcomers or not is mostly irrelevant. Therefore, a noob may be someone who has been around for a long time but still engages in behavior that he or she should have learned is unacceptable. Noobs are generally confident in what they are doing, but in reality are annoying others. "Newb" is not necessarily an insulting word, but "noob" usually is. If someone makes an unintelligent comment on a forum or asks a question that even other newbies could answer then it is said that they are making a "noobish" comment or asking a "noobish" question. - Wikipedia So what's the deal of imps and n00bs? Well, my recent experience with the noypi.org community and a customer from mypapani.com made me realize that I have to do something to make a difference again. The internet is starting to breed all sorts of Pinoy n00bs (or imps as I call them), and they are multiplying at an enormous rate. Take for example weblord and his henchmen at noypi.org. A few years ago at DOGZ, me and my #quake friends used to "pwn" every n00b (or imps as we usually call them) playing or posting in the forums (most popular was endoskeleton), but not newbies. I really have low tolerance for these kind of people. When the DOGZ forum was hacked, we started to live our own. No more online games, pwning n00bs, etc. I started blogging full time and i've already encountered a handful of pseudo-intellects lurking on cyberspace. There's J-Pherson and Wrencelot. There are the fans of Toni Gonzaga or Chx Alcala, all dumb and clueless about my blog. I can handle them alone. But my experience over noypi.org made me realize that I cannot face an entire community that sympathizes with an imp. I can handle 2 or 3 imps, but an imp backed by an entire community plus their admin? Impossible. Every super hero needs to retreat right? Patterned over the concept of Justice League, LIXX or the League or Imp eXterminators eXtraordinaire will be a group of Pinoy bloggers and forumers that will bond together and help each other eradicate internet imps on Pinoy forums and blogs. If you share our sentiments, don't hesitate to put the logo on your website or blogs to serve as a warning to all imps out there. I'll be posting other sizes on the coming days. To the great and respectable bloggers out there. Help us on our mission. Spread the word. Mike, Ade, EJ, Vemsan, Mon, etc. Help us. Join us. To the others who responded to my distress signal before, thanks. That was just the start. Too much work to be done. I am also appealing to my #quake friends. We may not have a home on DOGZ but we could start to make a difference again. Let's clean the internet of imps on our own little way. Magus, stitch, baki, rachel, ak47, shix, Badoodlez, straw, rainb1ood, gary let's do this again. Lets aer have more fun in #quae one more time!
