Fanboys Defend Super Twins Costume

(UPDATED) I guess some fanboys would do anything just to tell everyone that GMA-7's Super Twins' costume is original and did not rip-off the Sailor Senshi concept. A Wikipedia entry about Super Twins states that:
Super Twins is an upcoming show of GMA Network. The story is about magical twins.
The current TV trailer reveals that the "twins" are wearing battle uniforms similar to those of the Sailor Senshi. Though this uniform is common in Japan, the bright orange color is not and is identical to the uniform worn by Sailor Venus.

Not identical? What the? It may not be completely similar to Venus' costume but they are STILL Sailor Senshi costumes (compare Fig.1 and Fig.2, click to enlarge). Even Sailor Moon cosplayers wear costumes not as identical as the one showed on TV, and still manages to show the world that they are wearing Sailor Moon costumes. Fanboys. Tsss. Another reason that you shouldn't rely on Wikipedia for research.
I don't know if GMA-7 was shocked with the reactions of Sailor Moon fans that they decided to alter some of the Super Twins' costume. But still, Nadine Samonte and Jennylyn Mercado look like Sailormoon cosplayers. And as Ade said, "Nope, still retarded." :~)
And to those who keeps on saying that the Sailor Senshi costumes are common in Japan, THEY ARE NOT. The common uniform they're referring to is the Sailor Fuku, the uniform being worn by Maria Ozawa above :~) Sailor Senshi costumes ARE elaborate copies of the common Sailor Fuku, FYI.
To the folks who can access Wikipedia, could you do me a favor and edit the contents of Super Twins? Destiny's still slow and I cannot open the EDIT PAGE link :~(
(UPDATE 01/22/2007 23:58) Shixi XIE posted a lengthy entry regarding "The Root Causes for the Lack of Originality in the Philippine Entertainment Industry" There were really good points on the entry and I couldn't agree more. But the costume part, that's where I have to disagree.

Heck, even this guy looks like Sailor Moon.
If they are to catch the "sailormoon appeal", they should have just bought the license in the first place, instead of (ugh) copying 99% of the Sailor Senshi costume and telling us viewers that we "inspire them" so they give us the "best" (best ripoff?). It's not about crab mentality. They STOLE a concept and calls their it own. It's like letting a criminal go when we don't say a word regarding this issue and let them "experiment" and "develop ideas".
I've already said before, they bought the Lupin license, then let them do something exciting for Lupin. Do whatever they like as long as it's original then I'll support it all the way. It's already 2007, internet age, and we don't even need to tell the whole world about our copycat friends, the whole world will tell us. They have eyes.

This is nothing new in the Philippines. I've seen a lot of movies and shows that the we Pinoys have copied from foreign media. we need to do more of our own stuff, I know Pinoys are talented and creative enough to do our own stuff.
I have to agree with jaypee on this one, this is definitely the saddest attempt to admit no wrongdoing since the "I did not have sexual relations" debacle of Bill Clinton, or "Hello Garci" of Arroyo...
If it quacks like a duck then it must be a duck... but geez, it even looks like a duck, and we're supposed to believe it's not a duck!

@jaypee - yup, we could do better. Copying the Sailor Moon costume is one of the stupidest idea of GMA-7.

Aside from the costume design swiping, I for one am not bothered seeing Nadine and Jennylyn in those rags.

GMA is saying that they are raising the bar for primetime shows, but the truth is not, IBAGSAK SI GMA..... ay teka mali ata ako ng comment, hahahah!
