Have you ever experienced a bad day? I mean, a really bad day especially on your birthday. Well I just had my share. I received a very disturbing email 2 weeks ago from a long time reader condemning our videogame website, GameOPS. It has something to do with an issue involving me, Rocky, Siopao, Karlo, Mark and GameOPS. But, that issue was dead. DEAD.
It was unfortunate that the one who emailed me read something on a blog that has twisted the facts and made it appear GameOPS has been accusing someone or some group of fraud. I emailed the reader and cleared things up. He promptly replied and saying, "oh... sorry.". But whatever, it ruined my day. My birthday of all days. I was tempted to flame the owner of the blog where GameOPS was being accused but I didn't. I just said to myself that if ever someone emails me again, I'll just inform them with facts. For the next several days, I received 4 more emails from our readers. Same as the first one, telling us that we were wrong and that they have read everything on this guy's blog.
Of course, my original plan is no longer the logical course of action. Something has to be done. Either I post an official statement on GameOPS explaining our side or contact the owner of the blog who's caused all this damage to our name. Though against my will, I chose the latter.
I emailed him (let's refer to him as 'the one who shall not be named') 6 days later after the first email I received. I humbly requested that he either fix, edit or delete his post about us. Of course I have anticipated the tone of his response. Being famous for his arrogant and self righteous attitude, it didn't surprise me that he insulted me on his latest blog post. First he insulted me in a way since I am one of the founders of GameOPS, then he insulted me again, this time it's direct.
I 'was given a lecture' on email writing 101. Referring to me as a 'young man' and my email having a hostile tone and lacked the 4 points he raised on positive email persuasion. Come to think of it, my email was a polite way of a demand. Why? Because he's the f*cking one who accused us of something we didn't do in the first place.
Don't you find it weird that I am the one 'requesting' something from someone who accused us of something which isn't true? Oh well... that's life.
I don't care if it was posted in his own space, but the fact remains that this personal space of his is public and can be read by anyone. Anyone can be misled and misinformed that GameOPS had something to do with his false accusations. I may not have a deep vocabulary like him but my logic is intact.
Rocky, Glen, Mark and I have protected the name igad and GameOPS through the years. Even months before the first Filipino blogger started to blog and probably years even before 'the one who shall not be named' learned to send an email. Yeah we know we're old.
Oh about me being criticized by all because of bringing a dead issue back... naaaah! I doubt it. I am only trying to protect our name. Our hard work through the years. Our image. Our GameOPS. That's it.
I'm not expecting him to alter his post in the first place anyway. I'm still hoping though. But as Captain Kathryn Janeway puts it, "When diplomacy fails, there is only one alternative: Violence."

UPDATE (12/13/2008 13:56): It is unfortunate that this 'the one who shall not be named' has posted a link from his Plurk to this post. Well, have I exposed who he is above? No. Only my friends and other people involved in the issue know who he is. Even my regular readers don't have a clue on his identity.

I've read his posts and haller!!!- it seems to me that he is more concern on vocabulary and leading his reader on a maze rather than the contents of his message.Can somebody teach him Clear and Simple Writing 101? Or even a bit of Logic 101. Jepoy politely and humbly asked/requested to edit his erraneous post. It was not a demand. And the not-so-young man-who-must-not-be-named is making a big fuss about it. You can say your egocentric self don't want to oblige -you don't have to teach anybody anything unless you think your the most intelligen person in the world.. which obviously isn't the case.

I mean, my writing is sooo in need of every available dick-shoenary and kiki-pedia available there is. but is it really about grammar? it's about content and "content" does not necessarily = vocab leche nya! mag-isip sya hahaha

@reyna elena - even my college books don't have wordings like his. A 'dick-shoenary' and a 'tete-saurus' is a must have every time I read his post, even his email replies. Last time I've checked, basic conversational English is still the norm.

Well, eloquence is moot when the topic to be discoursed is a basic expression of disdain for another fellow man.The observance of fine grammar is necessary for people who are of the lesser physical appearance. They bombard the senses with humongous words to mask their "shortcomings". The phallic symbol they use are the "large" words they tend to utilize.
In short hindi naman lalaki titi mo kung aayusin mo pero ayaw mo lang kasi wala kana magawa dahil nasabi mo na.

But seriously, we need diplomacy in discussing matters especially when reputations are at stake.I cannot fathom what J*kupal****er wants to prove on what he did. In the cold world of the cyberspace, I think that we need chivalry to settle things especially between two Filipinos.
To me reveling at the sight of someone who approached you and asked something reasonable is just plain mean but I don't want to judge anyone's character.
Just be a man my friend and do the logical thing. It's not as if you will be less of a man if you do the right thing, besides Jepoy has a reason to ask you to do it and he even did it politely.

He ensures his popularity through the names of other bloggers. If you scrutinize his blog it's only a collection of pictures of bloggers whom he calls friends even though some are just forced to be with him due to the event itself.
I like Jughead Jones, he was and continues to be a morally sound young man unlike the clone.
The asshole tries so hard but continues to fail in life. Be kind just let him be. Can't you see him trying so hard to be an elite blogger. I mean its hard to look like an idiot all the time.
