Free Wi-Fi at Quezon City Hall's Taxpayer Lounge
Tuesday, July 22, 2008 Captain's Log Supplemental Stardate -315557.22
I was with Lalaine yesterday at Quezon City Hall to pay our business tax. The line was long and I was bored to hell with nothing else to do. Good thing we bought the laptop with us. Maybe I could play solitaire 100 times just in time when our number is next.
When I opened the laptop, a pop up window appeared informing me of available hotspots. I tried to search for open access points... low and behold, the laptop detected several WiFi signals!
My laptop detected four (4) access points, three of which are open and free for anyone to access. I tried the first access point on the list and I got instantly connected.
Quezon City's connection is powered by BayanTel and access was fast... blindingly fast! You can see it clearly on the speedtest result above.
So screw solitaire... I am now connected! Now what's a blogger to do while waiting for our number to be called? PLURK and TWIT! Besides the free Wi-Fi, Quezon City also offers free Nescafe coffee, a very organized and efficient payment system, and a clean, comfy, and air conditioned waiting rooms.
That's what Mr. Manolo refers to as "taxpayer's money at work".

I'm just happy how Mayor Sonny Belmonte transformed Quezon City into the richest and the best managed city in the Philippines. Quezon City was very different seven (7) years ago. It just shows that there is still hope in the Philippines if you just elect the right people into office. Hope you guys won't make the same mistake again in 2010 if ever Erap decides to run again.
Mayor Belmonte for President in 2010 anyone?

It's been a month since my last post and boy a lot has happened for the past 30 days. One of them is that the chest pains I experienced which my friend Daniel referred to as, "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU JUST DESCRIBED A TEXTBOOK CASE OF MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION!"
Of course, I went to a cardiologist and was advised to have my 2D Echo test. So far, my cardiologist told me to stop all my medications as my heart is strong! Oh ye!
Besides some mild regurgitation and a thickened mitral valve leaflet of my heart, all is well and normal. She just told me too relax and remove any stress in my body. And avoid violent and angry emotions...
So, "Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry" :~)
Above is my 2D echo result so if there are doctors out there, will I die or will I turn green when I'm angry? :~)
